Fed/State Corporate (SC1120/1120S)

The IRS began accepting corporate federal returns electronically in 2004.  South Carolina's participation in Fed/State Corporate filing was delayed until September, 2007.  This delay allowed potential software developers and the SC DOR time to test and implement Corporate FedState.

In September of 2007, the SC Department of Revenue moved from a testing mode to production with the IRS.  The first developer tested and accepted for tax year 2006 filing was CCH.  Five developers have been certified/approved for TY2007 Corporate FedState filing.  These developers are: CCH, UltraTax, Drake, RCS TaxSlayer, and UTS TaxWise.  Production or LIVE returns have already been received and procesed for TY2006 and TY2007 by SC DOR.  As of August 6th 2008, the agency had received and processed 1,338 corporate returns via the FedState efile method.

Fed/State Electronic Filing for Corporations will provide taxpayers the ability to file both their federal and South Carolina corporate returns electronically in one transmission or in separate transmissions with the IRS.  By participating in Fed/State Corporate filing, the DOR continues to offer new electronic filing/payment options to the taxpayers of South Carolina.
