Rock Hill Business Owner Arrested for Two Counts of Failure to Collect or Pay Over Withholding Tax

 

Robert Clyde Shields, owner of Bavarian Auto Service in Rock Hill, SC, was arrested on July 29, 2014 for two counts of failure to collect or pay over withholding tax.

 

Shields, 64, failed to remit a total of $7,357.00 in state taxes withheld from wages earned by Bavarian Auto Service employees to the SC Department of Revenue (SCDOR) for tax years 2010 and 2011.

 

If convicted, Shields could be fined up to $10,000 and/or imprisoned not more than 5 years per charge. The York County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest of Shields at his place of business. Shields is being held at the York County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
