Emergency Room Doctor Charged with Four Counts of Income Tax Evasion

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Department of Revenue investigators today charged James C. Balvich, 54, an emergency room physician doing business as K.B. Management Services, with four counts of income tax evasion.

Balvich failed to report the gross income from K.B. Management Services on his individual income tax returns. The understatement of income for the four years was in excess of $4.1 Million for calendar years 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. 

Balvich is currently being held at the Alvin Glenn Detention Center and bond has been set at $250,000 cash or surety.  If convicted on all charges, he faces up to five years in prison, fines up to $10,000, or both.
