RE:  Local 1% Capital Projects Tax for Allendale County

Effective January 1, 2007 Allendale County's new sales and use tax rate will be 6% instead of 7%.  Allendale had imposed an additional 1% capital projects tax in order to raise $3,000,000.00.  As of December 31, 2006, this goal will be met.  Accordingly, you are no longer required to collect and report the additional 1% capital projects tax after December 31, 2006.

The last return to report this additional 1% capital projects tax for Allendale County is the December 2006 return, due on January 20, 2007.  Thereafter, you are no longer required to report the 1% capital projects tax for Allendale County on Page 1 of the ST-389 form.

Please be advised that the 1% local option sales and use tax is still applicable for Allendale County.  Therefore, you are still required to collect and report that tax on Page 3 of the ST-389 form.
