Alcoholic Beverage License Renewal Now Offered Online
South Carolina Business One Stop (SCBOS), South Carolina's only online system which connects business owners to multiple state agencies, has launched a new Alcohol Beverage License renewal program. This new feature will impact over all businesses with liquor licenses throughout the state of South Carolina, and includes Beer and Wine Licenses, Liquor by the Drink Licenses, Retail Liquor Licenses and Wholesale Liquor Licenses.
Starting in January, business owners with ABL licenses will be able to renew, pay by credit card or EFT (electronic fund transfer), and print a temporary license from the SCBOS Web site. Renewal notices for Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, and Berkeley counties were mailed out this week. Businesses that are in the 2007 renewal cycle will be mailed their renewal notices 60 days in advance of their license expiration date throughout the year.
"The Alcohol Beverage License Renewal program allows business owners to have the convenience of renewing their licenses online and receiving an immediate temporary license," commented Department of Revenue Director Ray Stevens, "that allows the business owner to continue daily operations without interruption."
For the Partner Agencies that comprise SCBOS, this is an eventful step forward in providing South Carolina businesses with the ability to interact with the State electronically. For business owners, it provides convenience.
"I renewed our ABL license online today for Bamberg Discount Beverage. I was prompted to answer all the questions necessary and paid it right then. I found this way to be very simple and efficient. I will renew over the Internet for all of our stores when it is time to renew," said Betty Bunch of Goodwins of Orangeburg. The average time for completing the Alcohol Beverage License Renewal online is five minutes.
"The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a partner in this collaborative effort to ease red tape for new and expanding businesses in the state," said S. Hunter Howard Jr., president and chief executive officer of the South Carolina Chamber. "SCBOS has more than met expectations, and we are extremely excited that the Web site is continuing to grow by now facilitating ABL renewals online. SCBOS is an excellent example of how South Carolina is enhancing its business climate to make it more attractive to new investment."
Business owners wanting to take advantage of renewing their Alcohol Beverage License online can find complete instructions on the SCBOS Web site, or on the last page of their Renewal letter application. The SCBOS Web site is located at: http://www.scbos.com.
