South Carolina Department of Revenue investigators arrested a Beaufort dentist today and charged him with failing to pay his state taxes.
Dr. Kyle J. Farnsworth, 34, is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Columbia following his arrest on two counts of failing to file state income tax returns in 2004 and 2005. Farnsworth was taken to Richland County because he was a resident there during the period covered by the charges.
The revenue department estimates Farnsworth has a tax liability of $7,481 for the period he is alleged to have failed to file. He is facing up to two years in jail and fines of up to $20,000 if convicted of the charges.
