Husband and Wife Arrested on Tax Charges
A Camden couple who owns and operates a pizza restaurant was arrested by South Carolina Department of Revenue investigators today for operating a restaurant location without a state retail sales license.
Thomas Matt Ereth, Jr., 47, and his wife, Julia Ann Ereth, 39, were each charged with one count of operating the company’s Sumter-area Dominos Pizza franchise without a retail license. They are being held at the Sumter County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. The Department of Revenue revoked the company’s retail licenses in August for failing to pay state sales tax. The Ereth’s are accused of re-opening the Sumter location after the department revoked the license.
Thomas Ereth is the owner and operator of the family-owned Domino Pizza franchise, where his wife is employed as the business manager. The couple is accused of operation of a retail business without a license and/or a suspended license. The Ereth’s are facing up to 30 days in prison and $200 in fines if convicted.
