As the president and responsible party for Gay and Walters Attorneys in Rock Hill, SC, Douglas F. Gay failed to collect and remit over $11,469 of state income tax withheld for all quarters in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

South Carolina Department of Revenue investigators today arrested Gay, 55, and if convicted of the twelve charges, Gay could face up to $120,000 in fines and/or up to 60 years in prison.

During 2008, 2009 and 2010, Gay deducted $12,036 in state income taxes from employee wages and remitted only $567 to the South Carolina Department of Revenue.
Gay is currently being held at the York County Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing. The York County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the arrest.
