Columbia man arrested for tax evasion
Investigators from the South Carolina Department of Revenue today arrested a Columbia man for four counts of income tax evasion.
Robert Bradley III, 37, failed to file his South Carolina individual income tax returns for wages earned during the 2008 – 2011 calendar years. During this time, Bradley earned $180,645 of income with a state tax liability of $7,081. Additionally, he is accused of filing with his employer a fraudulent withholding allowance certificate which caused zero state taxes to be withheld.
If convicted of the four charges, Bradley could face up to 20 years in prison and/or $40,000 in fines.
Bradley is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
