SCDOR Investigators arrest man for tax fraud
Columbia, SC (August 13, 2012) --- Kalon Cavett Randolph, 43, was arrested today in Clarendon County by the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) after Randolph knowingly provided fraudulent information to another individual in order to have an individual income tax return prepared in his name.
In 2008, Randolph submitted to SCDOR an income tax return which contained both fraudulent W2 and withholding information, thus resulting in Randolph receiving a state tax refund of $448 to which he was not entitled.
Randolph is currently being held at the Clarendon County Detention Facility where he is awaiting a bond hearing. For the felony charges, Randolph could face fines of up to $500 and/or up to five years in prison, or both, together with the cost of prosecution.
