Columbia, SC (September 24, 2012) --- October 15 is the filing deadline for those with an extension of time to file their 2011 individual income tax returns and the SC Department of Revenue is reminding taxpayers of their refund options.

Taxpayers will receive an income tax refund prepaid debit card unless they designate on their tax return to receive a paper check or direct deposit. Only those taxpayers filing electronically or by 2D barcode have the option to directly deposit their refund.

For taxpayers that receive a prepaid debit card, customer service is available from Bank of America 24 hours a day, seven days a week; the debit card can also be used anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted including online transactions, over the phone, or to pay bills.
