Irmo business owner arrested for tax charge
Columbia, SC (December 13, 2012) --- The owner of a motorcycle sales and service shop was charged today with operating without a state retail sales license.
SC Department of Revenue investigators charged John David Frye II, owner of Gotham City Cycles in Irmo, with one count of operating without a retail license. Frye is currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center pending a bond hearing. The Department of Revenue revoked the company’s retail license in September for failing to pay state sales tax. Frye is accused of continuing to operate the business after the department revoked the license. Frye, 45, is facing up to 30 days in jail and/or $200 in fines if convicted of the charge.
