Owner of Rock Hill Auto Business Arrested on Tax Charge
Columbia, SC (January 25, 2013) --- The owner of Bavarian Auto Service in Rock Hill was arrested Friday and charged with one count of operating a business without a retail license.
According to SC Department of Revenue officials, Robert Shields, owner of the auto service shop, could face up to 30 days in jail and/or $200 in fines if convicted of the charge.
In May 2010, the retail license for Bavarian Auto Service was revoked by the SC Department of Revenue. However, in July 2011, a second retail license registered as B.A.S. was obtained for the establishment and later revoked as the Department determined that the two businesses were one in the same. Furthermore, the investigation proved that the auto service shop, located on Dunlap Roddey Road, continued to operate without a retail license.
Robert Shields, 63, was taken to the York County Detention Center where he is currently awaiting a bond hearing. The York County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the arrest.
