Pageland Automotive Shop Owner Arrested for Operating Without a License

Columbia, SC (June 19, 2013) --- The owner of an auto repair shop in Pageland was charged Wednesday with one count of operating without a retail sales tax license.

SC Department of Revenue (DOR) investigators arrested Perry Wendell Lowery, owner of Perry’s Automotive, after Lowery continued to operate the business even though the license was revoked by DOR in 2012 for failure to pay state sales tax.

Lowery is being held at the Chesterfield County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. If convicted of the charge, Lowery could face up to 30 days in jail and/or up to $200 in fines.

Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office assisted DOR with the arrest.
