The South Carolina Department of Revenue is now offering taxpayers an opportunity to receive copies of the agency’s advisory opinions and information bulletins free by e-mail.

Advisory opinions and information bulletins provide taxpayers specific information and guidance on tax laws administered by the agency. The opinions, however, are not binding on the taxpayer.

People using the Department of Revenue’s new service will automatically receive by e-mail drafts, temporary and final advisory opinions. Taxpayers can obtain this service by visiting the Department of Revenue’s website at www.sctax.org and clicking on "tax policy," then "subscription service."
