Revenue Department workshop aimed at retailers

            The South Carolina Department of Revenue and the South Carolina Merchants Association are co-sponsoring an Oct. 30 sales and use tax workshop designed specifically for retailers and their staffs.

            The day-long workshop will be held in Columbia at the South Carolina Department of Archives & History Center, 8301 Parklane Road. Revenue Department employees will cover topics such as basic sales and use tax law, tax law updates, filing requirements, electronic services for businesses, exemptions and exclusions and much more.  

            The $95 registration fee includes the costs of all workshop materials, a continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Pre-registration is required by Oct. 23. For information and registration, visit the DOR website at www.sctax.org, or call Jeanette Hornsby at (803) 898-5420.
