NEWS RELEASE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE Public Affairs Office Phone (803) 898-5464 Contact: Danny Brazell Fax (803) 898-5446 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sept. 12, 2003 Myrtle Beach businessman arrested on tax charges The owner of a Myrtle Beach concrete finishing company remains in jail following his bond hearing today after South Carolina Department of Revenue criminal investigators charged him with failing to file his state income tax returns. William R. Robson, 46, owner of Robson Concrete, is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $60,000 cash or surety bond following his arrest on three counts of failing to file state tax returns. Horry County Magistrate A.C. Butler set Robson’s bond at $20,000 per count. Robson is accused of failing to file tax returns from 1999 – 2001. The Department estimates Robson’s business income during the three-year period was more that $151,000. Robson is the fourteenth person arrested on tax charges this year by the Department of Revenue. He is facing up to three years in prison and fines of up to $30,000 if convicted of all the charges. The Horry County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Department of Revenue in Robson’s arrest. ###
