Alcohol beverage licenses can be renewed online

            Alcohol beverage license holders can now renew their license online by using a new service offered at the South Carolina Department of Revenue website.

            License holders can renew their licenses, make changes to their business mailing address or add corporate officers by going to the Department of Revenue Business Online Registration (DORBOS) location at www.sctax.org. The license renewal fee can be paid at the same time by credit card or electronic funds withdrawal from the holder’s account.

             If a license holder is renewing a license near the renewal deadline, the program permits the holder to print a 10–day “Letter to Operate,” which will allow them to sell alcoholic beverages until their renewed license arrives by mail.

            The new service was added to the DOR website earlier this month and is the next step in the department’s efforts to offer as many tax services online as possible.
