Charleston…A Charleston County resident was arrested today and charged with failure to file individual income tax returns.

Henry W. Lockwood, 54, Charleston Harbor Pilot, was arrested by South Carolina Department of Revenue investigators and charged with five counts of failure to file a state income tax return. He is  being held at the Charleston County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

The Department of Revenue alleges Lockwood had gross income of $2,559,570.00 from 2004 through 2008 with a tax liability of $130,838.00. The Department's investigation showed that Lockwood met the filing requirement, but failed to file state income tax returns.

He is facing up to 5 years in prison and fines of up to $50,000 if convicted of the charges.
