COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The S.C. Department of Revenue will host a Sales and Use Tax Workshop for individuals associated with educational institutions.  Business managers, chief financial officers, accounts payable personnel, accounting staff, tax professionals and others who work with sales and use tax are encouraged to attend and take part in the informational seminar.

The seminar will specifically address the following items as they relate to educational institutions:

§         Basics of sales and use tax law

§         Update of new sales and use tax laws

§         Exemptions, exclusions and certificates

§         The latest on local option sales tax and other taxes

§         What to expect if you are audited

§         Electronic services

§         Filing and administrative requirements
