Hemingway business owner arrested for operating without a license

Roosevelt Scott of Nesmith, SC was arrested Thursday by South Carolina Department of Revenue investigators. Scott, 71, is charged with one count of Operating without a retail license.

Scott, owner of Scott’s BBQ in Hemingway, was arrested after he continued to operate and conduct business and retail sales after the business license was revoked in June of 2010.

If convicted, Scott could face up to 30 days in jail and/or $200 in fines.
