Horry County man arrested for hostile phone calls
An Horry County resident is in jail today after voluntarily turning himself in for making hostile telephone calls to the South Carolina Department of Revenue. Jesse W. Holcomb, 43, is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Facility in Horry County pending a bond hearing. He is charged with two counts of unlawful use of a telephone. The Department of Revenue investigation showed Holcomb used his cellular telephone to place two separate calls to the department’s Myrtle Beach office. Voicemail messages were left which contained profanity. The voicemail messages were saved, and the telephone company verified the location of the calls and the owner of the telephone number. He is facing up to sixty days in jail and fines of up to $1,000 if convicted of the charges. The Horry County Sheriff's Office assisted with the arrest.
