Kershaw County Resident Arrested on Tax Charges
Kershaw County resident was jailed this morning following his arrest for state tax charges.
South Carolina Department of Revenue investigators charged Ronald E. Boykin, II, 35, of Camden, with one count of forgery for tax year 2009 and one count of assisting in the preparation of a false return. He is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Boykin is accused of presenting a fraudulent W-2 form to H&R Block to file 2009 Individual Income Tax returns. As a result, Boykin received $4,324.00 in refunds to which he was not entitled.
He is facing up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $500 if convicted of the charges.
