Lexington man arrested on tax charges
Columbia, SC --- David A. Landsman was arrested this morning for operating a business without a retail sales tax license.
Landsman, President of Reyland Medical, was arrested by South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) Investigators when he continued to operate and conduct retail sales at the medical equipment and supply store after its retail sales tax license was revoked. Reyland Medical, located at 1053 Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia, had its retail sales tax license withdrawn in July of 2010 by the SCDOR.
If convicted of the charges, Landsman could face up to 30 days in prison and/or fines of $200. Landsman is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the arrest.
