S.C. DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE TO HOST
SALES AND USE TAX SEMINAR FOR MANUFACTURERS
The S.C. Department of Revenue will host a Sales and Use Tax seminar exclusively for manufacturers. Business managers, chief financial officers, accounts payable personnel, accounting staff, tax professionals and others who work with sales and use tax are encouraged to attend.
At the seminar, the following items will be discussed as they specifically relate to manufacturing:
§ Basics of the sales and use tax law
§ Exemptions, exclusions and certificates
§ Local option sales tax and other taxes
§ Property taxes
§ What to expect if you are audited
§ Electronic Services
§ Filing and administrative requirements

Pre-registration is required and should be sent to DOR by March 1, 2006. The $45 registration fee includes all materials, breakfast, lunch and refreshment breaks. A confirmation will be sent to all who register. Certificates of attendance will be provided and attendees will be responsible for seeking continuing education credit through their appropriate accreditation board.
