Rock Hill attorney arrested on tax charges

Horace Anderson Jones, Jr. was arrested this morning on three counts of failure to file his individual income tax returns.

During 2004, 2005 and 2006, Jones earned gross income for each year in excess of the minimum filing requirements. Jones, of 446 Lige Street, earned income in 2004 totaling $46,076, $105,589 in 2005 and $42,207 in 2006. During each period, Jones failed to timely submit an individual income tax return to the Department of Revenue. By knowing the requirements, Jones willfully failed to file a SC individual income tax return for wages earned in 2004, 2005 and 2006, and pay a tax due of $2,008, $6,448 and $989, respectively.

If convicted of the three charges, Jones could face up to three years in prison and/or $30,000 in fines.
