Rock Hill resident arrested for tax fraud
Rock Hill, SC…A Rock Hill man is being held at the York County Detention Center following his arrest today on charges of forgery.
Timothy Ray Walker, 52, is being held pending a bond hearing after South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) investigators charged him with five felony counts of forgery.
Walker is accused of preparing and presenting fraudulent Individual Income Tax returns with counterfeit W-2 forms to the SCDOR. As a result of submitting the fraudulent tax returns, Walker received $7,814.00 in refunds that he was not entitled. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
He is facing up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.00 if convicted of the charges.
The United States Secret Service and York County Sheriff’s Department assisted in Walker’s arrest.
