Columbia, SC....South Carolina entrepreneurs are coming to Columbia. The Richland County Business Service Center and South Carolina Business One Stop have had overwhelming response to their upcoming "Business Rules and Online Tools" workshop being held at the State Museum on Friday, February 6th.
"We are at 100% capacity," Liz Mason, SCBOS Program Manager said. "We have done a lot of hard work to bring a very important conference to the business community in South Carolina, and that community has responded with a loud yes to this workshop." Attendees from across the state, from Hilton Head to Pickens, and even out of state attendees have registered for the workshop.
The workshop is designed to assist those wanting to open a business or for businesses looking to expand, or simply for those wanting more information. This is the first event co-sponsored by SCBOS and Richland County Business Service Center, and brings together a willing coalition of government agencies. Featuring Federal, State, and local agencies, attendees will be able to get factual answers from government officials. Agencies and organizations include:

Attendees will spend the day in sessions pertinent to new or start-up businesses, and have the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with agencies if they should have specific questions.
"SCBOS performed studies that show the average business start-up spent over 40 hours preparing and getting paper forms processed – and that's once they have their questions answered." Mason said. "This event gives people the opportunity to get questions answered from multiple agencies at one time and one day – an incredible time and money saving opportunity for a start-up."
With the event sold out, the event organizers will be posting all the workshop presentations online for anyone interested. The presentations are slated to be online by Thursday, February 12th and are available at www.scbos.com or www.rcgov.us/bsc.
