Free workshop helps business owners with sales tax forms

      The South Carolina Department of Revenue will provide instructional help to business owners, retailers and others required to collect and report the state sales and use tax in two free workshops to be held Tuesday, April 8 at the Department's Columbia office, 301 Gervais Street.

      Department of Revenue employees will instruct workshop participants in collecting sales tax information, proper record keeping, completing the sales and use tax return and basic sales tax law. The two-hour long workshops are offered at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. While there is no charge, pre-registration is required by calling Jeanette Hornsby at (803) 898-5420, or emailing www.hornsbj@sctax.org.       The Department of Revenue Columbia office is located in the same building as the State Museum, next to the Gervais Street Bridge.
