 House Bill 3512, Section 5( Act No. 223)

Code Section 61-4-1515 was amended to allow a brewery to sell beer brewed on the premises for on-premises consumption without the requirement that consumers take a full tour and without a separate license, provided the brewery meet several different requirements. If the brewery has an area of its licensed premise approved by the rules and regulations of DHEC governing eating and drinking establishments and other food service establishments the brewery may apply for a separate permit to sell beer and wine, produced by another licensed producer and purchased through a licensed wholesaler, at retail for consumption within the approved area. (SC Department of Revenue Guidelines for Breweries)

House Bill 3512, Sections 2, 3 and 4 (Act No. 223)

Code Section 61-6-1500 was amended to add new civil penalties for administrative violations of prohibited transfers.

Code Section 61-6-195 was added regarding the certification that retail dealer's purchase alcoholic liquors from licensed wholesaler's.

Code Section 61-6-1530 was added to require certain language be included in signs posted in a retail liquor dealer's place of business.

House Bill 3512, Section 6 (Act No. 223)

Code Section 61-6-4160 has been amended to make it a misdemeanor to sell alcoholic liquor on Christmas Day. The previous prohibition of sales on statewide elections days was omitted.

House Bill 4399, Section 1 (Act No. 253)

Code Section 61-6-120 was amended to provide that a license to sell liquor for on-premises consumption may be issued if the decision-making body of each church, and the decision-making body of the owner of each playground, within the distance parameters affirmatively states that it does not object to issuance of the specific license sought. (ABL-956)
