Do I have to have a license to conduct a game of Bingo? YES
Before conducting a game of Bingo, a non-profit organization shall file with the department a written application in a form prescribed by the department.

Do I need a promoter's license? YES
A promoter under contract with a licensed non-profit organization to manage, operate, or conduct a game shall file a written application for a promoter's license in a form prescribed by the department.

What are the different classes of Bingo?
There are 6 different classes of Bingo: Class AA, Class B, Class C, Class D, Class E, Class F

Does a Bingo license have a cost? YES

Class AA - $4000.00
Class B - $1000.00
Class C - no cost
Class D - $100.00 for not more than 10 days
Class D - $200.00 for more than 10 days
Class E - $500.00
Class F - $100.00

How much is a promoter's license? $1000.00
The license must be purchased from the department as a cost of $1000.00 a year.

How often do I renew my promoter's license? Yearly
The license must be purchased from the department as a cost of $1000.00 a year.

How often does the charity renew their license?
The non-profit organization does not need to apply for renewal of the license as long as there are no changes in the operation or location of the game.

Do I have to charge admission? Admission is subject to the class of license

Class AA - shall impose an entrance fee of $18.00
Class B - shall impose an entrance fee of $5.00
Class D or Class E - may impose an entrance fee of $5.00
Class F - may impose an entrance fee of $3.00

Are there any bond requirements? YES
Manufacturers, promoters, organizations, or distributors are required to furnish a bond in an amount approved by the department.

Class AA - $50,000.00
Class B - $20,000.00
Class C - $10,000.00

How many licenses can a promoter have? 5
No promoter is permitted more that five licenses

One license per person or organization.

Can I be a promoter and a manufacturer? NO
A bingo card manufacturer may not be licensed to operate a game as a bingo card distributor or as a promoter.

Does the SCDOR do any type of background checks? YES
A person licensed as a bingo manufacturer, distributor, organization, or promoter shall submit to a background investigation.

Does the Bingo have to have a checking account? YES
An organization receiving an annual license to conduct bingo shall establish and maintain one regular checking account designated the "bingo account" and also may maintain an interest-bearing savings account designated the "bingo savings account".

Can I sale or transfer my Bingo cards? NO
Bingo cards may not be sold or transferred between licensed organizations, between distributors, or between manufacturers.

Does the SCDOR conduct inspections? YES
The department or its designated agent or representative may enter upon the premises where bingo is played or the business premises of another person and examine books, papers, records, memoranda, commodities, or other things bearing upon the amount.

Does the SCDOR give penalties of any kind? YES
A penalty of up to five thousand dollars and revocation of the license at the discretion of the department may be imposed for a violation.

How much is a manufacturer's license? $5000.00
The department shall charge an annual license fee of five thousand dollars for each manufacturer and two thousand dollars for each distributor.

The department shall charge an annual license fee of five thousand dollars for each manufacturer and two thousand dollars for each distributor.

How often do I renew my manufacturer's/distributor's license? Yearly
A license issued by the department is renewable annually unless canceled or terminated.
