Nonprofit Update #11

On November 1, 1997, the Department of Revenue in Columbia will adopt a new telephone system. My new number will be 898-5040, and Jane Baker's 898-5445.

I am pleased to report that the Draft Sales Tax Chapter from the upcoming State Tax Guide for Nonprofit Organizations is now available for proofing. If you would like to review it please let me know (assuming you have not already done so) within the next two weeks. The property tax chapter should be available within the next 45 days.

A national law firm recently sent me an excellent recapitulation of the substantiation rules, which have undergone various changes in the past year. Please write or call Jane Baker if you would like a copy.
