Hot off the presses is the updated 1996 IRS Publication 526, Charitable Contributions (PDF Format). It contains a wealth of information not only for donors but for charitable organizations as well. (For example, just this week I received an invitation to a Charitable Ball in the Midlands. The invitation incorrectly noted that 100% of the ticket price was deductible. See page 3, "Contributions From Which You Benefit.")
