Fairfield County Local Option Sales Tax

Effective Monday, May 1, 2006, Fairfield County will impose a new 1% Local Option tax.  As a result,
all sales of merchandise made in or delivered to Fairfield County will be subject to 6% sales and use
tax (or 8% accommodations tax). This change in the tax rate is the result of voter approval of an
additional 1% local sales and use tax to reduce the property tax burden in Fairfield County.

Workshops will be offered to all retailers located in or making sales to Fairfield County. The workshops
will be offered on the following dates, times and locations listed below:
